Kowa Releases New 1 C-Mount Megapixel Anti-Shock and Vibration HC-V Lens Series

Kowa expands on its next generation ruggedized lenses with the addition of the 1” HC-V series.

Torrance, California. March 24, 2016

Kowa is proud to announce the release of their second anti-shock and vibration lens series, the 1" HC-V series.  Following the success of the 2/3" JCM-V lens series, the new HC-V lenses feature a similar ruggedized mechanical design as the JCM-V lenses with an optical design based on Kowa’s popular 1" format HC lens series.  As a result, the HC-V lenses produce high megapixel resolution, low distortion, and excellent light transmission, but is ruggedized for applications that require increased durability in harsh environments.

"The HC-V lens series utilizes a unique design that limits moving parts to increase robustness while maintaining the flexibility of having an adjustable focus and iris.  By replacing the conventional locking screw system for fixing the focus position with that of a two way reversible nut, we are able to significantly decrease any damage that may occur due to heavy shock of even a 5G force.  To further improve on the original ruggedized design, we have now added a number scale so that users can easily determine the focus position," says National Sales Manager, Andrew Kam.

To adjust the F-stop, the HC-V lenses use four interchangeable iris plates ranging from F1.4 to F8.  All internal glass elements are also glued to the inside housing to maximize stability.  There are 6 models in the HC-V series with focal lengths of 8mm, 12.5mm, 16mm, 25mm, 35mm, and 50mm.

Customers can get an in-depth look on the HC-V lenses at The Vision Show in Boston, MA from May 3-5, 2016 at booth number 1223.  Other featured products at the show will include the 2/3" JCM-V lens series, 1" C-Mount 6 megapixel plus SC lens series, 2/3" and 4/3” telecentric megapixel lens series, and 2/3” 10MP JC10M lens series.
