Kowa Announces New Product Line with Introduction of New 4/3" XC Series Lenses for Machine Vision Systems

Kowa Optimed, an industry leader in machine vision and CCTV lenses, continues in its tradition of providing innovative products by introducing their new XC lens series.

Kowa's 4/3" XC lens series feature a wide 23mm diameter with a C-Mount instead of a conventional F-Mount found on similar large format lenses. Kowa considered size, image quality, versatility, and overall system costs when designing the XC series, resulting in high performance, cost effective lenses useful in a wide range of applications.

"A C-Mount allows Kowa's XC lenses to have a relatively compact size without sacrificing the ability to accommodate larger camera sensors," says Andrew Kam, Kowa Optimed Sales Manager. "Thus, one of Kowa's XC lenses paired with a C-Mount camera can lead to a more compact and less expensive system."

Kowa Optimed's new XC lens series consists of five models with focal lengths of 12mm, 16mm, 25mm, 35mm, and 50mm. Each model features over 8 megapixel resolution and a high grade aspherical lens to reduce distortion and maximize image quality. In order to diminish glare and refraction, the XC lens series is also coated with Kowa's special wide-band multi-coating. In addition, Kowa incorporated its unique floating mechanism system into the lens design that virtually eliminates optical aberrations at any distance.
